The analysis
What we look at, and how.
Your report covers eight regions of your face and how they work together. It is written to be read calmly: what we measured, what it means, and what, if anything, is worth doing.

How we measure
Measured the same way, every time.
Reference points
We place reference points on each photo and measure the distances, angles and proportions between them. Millimetres come from the size of your iris, which varies little between adults.
An expert's eye
Some things a photo shows but no measurement reads, like the shape of a brow or the texture of skin. Your expert judges those, and checks everything else.
Compared with you
At months four, eight and twelve, the same measurements are taken from new photos and compared with your own earlier ones.
Eight regions
The whole face, region by region.
Brows
Shape, height and fullness, and how they frame your eyes.
Eyes
Shape, tilt, spacing and the skin under the eyes.
Nose
Width, the tip and the profile, and how it sits within the face.
Cheeks
The width across your cheekbones, their height and definition.
Lips
Width, the balance between upper and lower lip, and the profile.
Jaw
Width and definition, measured against your cheekbones.
Chin
Height, width and shape, from the front and from the side.
Skin
Texture, redness and spots, compared with your own skin, not anyone else's.
Your report
Six parts, plainly written.
A note from your expert
A few personal lines from the expert who reviewed your report, signed “ilay expert”. You never see their name, and they never see yours.
At a glance
Your three strongest features, the three places you can gain most, and where to start.
Region by region
What we measured and what your expert sees. Then your plan, with a premium and a budget option, and a simulation of what it can change.
What we'd leave as it is
The features that already work for you, and why changing them wouldn't help.
Colour and style
The hair colours, makeup shades and clothing colours near your face that suit you.
Your routine
Morning and evening, and what to focus on when, until your next report.

What we never do
Three lines we don't cross.
No scores, no flaws
We describe and measure. We don't rank your face, compare it with other people's, or treat features that run in families as problems.
No guessing your background
We never infer ethnicity or background from your face. If it matters, we ask, and you can choose not to answer.
No diagnosis
ilay is not a medical service. For anything medical, we point you to a doctor or dermatologist.
